ROBERTO CAVALLI RESORT 2017

For his Roberto Cavalli resort collection, Peter Dundas drew on the decade’s bohemian, free-spirited mood. Crochet details gave a handmade look to tops and frocks, and cotton canvas hooded sweatshirts were embellished with ethnic motifs. Brightly hued abstract prints on maxidresses paid homage to psychedelic culture, while flared denim pants with intricate patchwork and tulle inserts, elaborately embroidered capes and intarsia leather pieces reflected Cavalli’s characteristic artisanal approach.

Evening offerings included a range of deconstructed gowns embellished with crystals and beads a luxurious yet effortless look. In short, this Seventies flashback offered plenty of options for contemporary nomadic hearts. Fashion can’t get enough of the Seventies.
